Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Shift: Double Days

Salary: £30000 - £34000 p.a.

Overview:

Maintenance Engineers required for a busy and highly successful automotive (tier 1) manufacturing plant.

Job Description (Maintenance Engineer)

o To carry out all aspects of Maintenance engineering to ensure efficient operations are maintained and production targets are met.

o To provide robust electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic solutions to support the ongoing needs of the production.

o To confirm own (and others) improvement/activity to determine the effectiveness and robustness thus providing the best possible solutions to customer.

o To be an effective member within a support team that is coordinated to support an efficient operation of the production department.

o To provide data and analysis from which to make accurate data led actions and plans.

o To support the PE/QA Assistant Manager in developing a cross-functional support team.

o To support the PE/QA Assistant Manager in ensuring that New Products are introduced efficiently by identifying maintenance requirements/TPM/critical spares for new equipment.

o To support the continuous improvement programme

To liaise with suppliers, externally and internally as necessary within the PE operating system

Person Specification (Maintenance Engineer):

o Relevant apprenticeship/training/qualification for electrical/mechanical maintenance engineering discipline.

o To be able to investigate/fault find and repair, PLC's,, robotics, servo systems.

o Previous experience of MIG/MAG, resistance, seam welding systems.

o Previous experience of power presses.

o TS16949 procedures

o Knowledge of automotive industry (or other industries aspiring to world class status)

o TPM based maintenance and machine repair experience (demonstrable experience of diagnosis and fault finding)

o Use of TPM systems, good spreadsheet skills, supplier/stock control programs.

o Supplier liaison experience

o Practical problem solving

o Compute large amounts of data, attention to detail.

o To read and interpret engineering drawings using a range of media.

o Good analytical skills.

o Practical financial awareness.

o Good IT skills.

o Good written & verbal communication and presentation skills. Language skills (and protocol) of countries of source of machine/items is a distinct advantage.

o The ability to identify areas for improvement in the pursuit of continuous improvement with guidance from PE/QA Assistant Manager.
