Job Description

Part of a major international group, this organisation is setting up a new manufacturing facility on a 'green field site' to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for the strategic direction of the divisions commercial department using your strong entrepreneurial approach.

As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the division's commercial department, using your strong entrepreneurial approach. You pro-actively manage customer relations; directing and managing all aspects of the Division's New Business activities, including Sales and Marketing, Capital Approval, Customer Service, Quoting, and all negotiations with Key Account OE Customers
Key Responsibilities:
o Actively manages commercial relationship with key automotive OEMs.
o Manage sales team and define measures for target achievements with respect to new business, prices management and budget requirements.
o Conducts and coordinates financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic business planning and quoting.
o Ensures that all the Division's goals for new customer projects are met and escalate deviations to the General Manager.
o Maintains RFQ/quote models and associated customer assumptions including capital and tooling approval.
o Supports manufacturing regarding all aspects of the commercial side of the business (SQA, Material, Engineer, etc.)
o Works closely with Engineering and Sales to secure profitable new business for the new Manufacturing Division.

Qualifications and Aptitudes:
To be successful in this role you will already have several years experience working in as a Sales Manager, Commercial Manager, Senior Key Account Manager or Business Development Manager and will see this a tremendous opportunity to establish and influence the sales and commercial direction within a successful automotive production facility.
Further more your experience will encompass some of the following key metrics;
o Senior management experience working within the automotive tier 1 supply chain with proven relationships with automotive OEMs (Honda, Nissan, Toyota)
o Experience of complex and high value product costing and commercial negotiations
o Able to facilitate the development of a results orientated environment and set high standards for self and department
o Degree level or equivalent in Manufacturing / Engineering/ Business related subject or equivalent
