Due to exponential growth, a global engineering & manufacturing business with a several manufacturing sites in the UK, are currently seeking an Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a skilled team of engineers to ensure the plant, equipment, tooling, site services and facilities are optimised.
The Senior Manufacturing Manager is required to provide day to day operational leadership and strategic planning for the Engineering Maintenance & Tooling Departments ensuring compliance with all legislation and best practice. Focus on equipment uptime initiatives, industrial engineering to improve productivity, OEE performance, and Continuous Improvement whilst leading site CAPEX projects. As well as a strong focus on compliance for Health, safety, Environmental, Quality and energy efficiency targets.
o Day to day operational leadership and strategic planning for the Engineering and Manufacturing Departments ensuring compliance with all legislation and best practice.
o Manage key department managers (Engineering Maintenance, Toolroom & Facilities) and support the General Manager on both operational activity and strategic planning.
o Deliver on KPI targets on a monthly basis, to drive a culture of ownership within the company.
o Identify opportunities for making efficiency improvement utilising lean manufacturing methodology.
o Budget planning and capital equipment expenditure management.
o Ensure the quality, safety and reliability of all production processes.
o Lead continuous improvement activities through breakdown data; cost data and risk analysis which will improve the site OEE measure
o Develop and operate a structured WCM approach to maintenance, fully exploring all opportunities to improve plant reliability
You will already be working in a senior leadership role within a large high volume manufacturing organization, ideally in an Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager or Manufacturing Manager capacity.
o Engineering qualification to HNC or above.
o Proven people management & leadership skills to ensure development and support to direct reports.
o Experience of managing multi-disciplined engineering teams (civils, mechanical, electrical, software) in a manufacturing environment.
o Proactive Management Activities (TPM, TQC, WCM)
o Ability to solve problems that are diverse and where may require analysis of data requires evaluation.
o Team player motivated by success of the company, goal oriented, excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
o Knowledge of applying statistical tools and lean manufacturing processes such as six sigma and other design for excellence method ( WCM).
o Managing Occupational Health & Safety (NEBOSH) training would be a benefit.
