A world leader in precision automotive component manufacturing is seeking to appoint a Quality Engineer. The ideal candidate will be a skilled Quality Engineer and have experience dealing with suppliers and support engineering and production departments to resolve any quality issues or concerns.
Reporting to the Quality Manager your role will be to resolve quality issues and drive improvement in cost of quality. You will support the decision making process with respect of customer requirements and you will also assist in resolution of supplier concerns.
o Provide leadership and ownership of quality improvements.
o Manage effectively the measurement of scrap, its analysis and subsequent resolution through team problem solving.
o Provide support and coaching using visual management to all shop floor processes with respect to product quality.
o Carry out internal system, process and product audits and drive corrective actions for issues identified until audit closure.
o Facilitate and document management of quality issues and internal concerns using global 8D.
o Liaise with customers and internal departments to ensure problem resolution and Project support.
o Support the company's New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
o Perform all duties in compliance with the company's Quality Management System.
You will already have significant experience working in a Quality Engineering with a high value precision engineering / manufacturing environment such as automotive, aerospace, defence, oil & gas or medical devices.
o Ideally a formal engineering qualification (C&G; HNC; Degree; MSc in Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering)
o Ability to work within a dynamic, fast moving production environment
o Experience using modern metrology/ CMM equipment, MSA and gauge R&R
o Knowledge of 8D, Control Plans, FMEA's and other quality tools and techniques
o Conversant with ISO 9001 and TS16949 would be beneficial
