Purpose (Maintenance Engineer)
The Technician's main purpose will be to maintain continuous running on all production plant to obtain maximum production efficiency, reduced downtime, improve costs, quality and safety. You will be responsible for reactive, predictive and planned maintenance to a range of equipment, in addition you may be required to undertake buildings or facilities maintenance as necessary.
Responsibilities (Maintenance Engineer)
o Providing breakdown cover, both mechanical and electrical.
o PLC problem diagnosis and resolution.
o Pneumatics & Hydraulics problem diagnosis and resolution.
o Responsible for optimising and sustaining process performance.
o Identifying and leading improvements.
o Training down of 1st line autonomous maintenance.
o Maintaining adequate records of all breakdown and planned work.
o Using root cause analysis methodology to improve plant.
o Work with engineers and carry out project work.
o Ensure full compliance with EN, ISO and Health and safety standards.
o Any other reasonable duties as requested.
o Participate in LEAN manufacturing function within Department/Plant
Qualifications and Experience
o Qualified to at least City & Guilds level
o Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematic diagrams.
o Experience of Automated equipment in a continuous process environment.
oGood communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
o Computer literate in Microsoft applications.
o Desire to be part of a winning production team.
o The ability to work shifts.
o Some knowledge of PLC's.
o Apprentice trained with experience within an industrial environment.
