Part of a major international group, this organisation is setting up a new manufacturing facility on a 'green field site' to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. As a Process Engineer your role will be to oversee and lead improvement activity for the manufacturing operations within a brand new production facility.
Production Process Engineer - CNC machining
Salary: to £35000
Location: Telford, Shropshire
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role of Production Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and leading continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. Actively present on the shop floor, you will provide technical support on all production process related issues. This includes:
o Implement process improvement strategies across tooling, jigs and fixtures, quality / data analysis and optimisation of machine controls and production flow.
o Creation of SOPs and PFMEA documentation
o Continuous improvement activities
o Poke yoke (error proofing)
o Line balancing & Value Stream Mapping
o Engineering and associated process change management
o Your focus will be on a key manufacturing processes including heat treatment, surface treatment, CNC machining, all controlled in a highly automated production cells incorporating the latest Robots and PLC automation.
Knowledge and Education
You will already have a proven track record working in a similar Process Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer or Production Engineering role within a high volume manufacturing facility and some of the flowing attributes:
o Apprentice / HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject
o Experienced working with automated production lines incorporating robots automation and CNC controls
o Modify and opitimise CNC programmes and production machines
o In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing/ Continuous Improvement methodologies and how to apply them in practice
o Confident hands-on approach, problem solving and rout cause analysis.
o SOP and PFMEA creation
o Knowledge of route cause analysis and structured problem solving ( 8D, PPS, Fishbone)
This method of manufacture is unique and further training will be provided which will involve some overseas travel.
