OVERVIEW & SCOPE OF ROLE:
The role of the Shop Floor Engineer is to support operations by setting and approving equipment to run in a safe and efficient way. This is a skilled role, requiring attention to detail, making sure products are produced within specification limits and customer quality expectations.
You will be expected to develop processes, working on and leading projects to improve operational output and reduce manufacturing costs in-line with site key performance indicators. A key area of this role is to champion 5S initiates, improving and maintaining a safe working environment whilst driving lean manufacturing principles at a shop-floor level.
EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
o An Advanced Apprenticeship in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent
o A GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
o A Yellow Belt Qualification in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
o Certification of completion of an abrasive wheel training course
o Previous experience in a strong Health and Safety culture
o Previous experience within a production environment in an Engineering or Setting role
o Previous experience within a setting role
o Experience in Production Engineering in an ISO 9001 environment
o Experience of a ISO 14001 and 18001 would be an advantage
