Electronics Design Engineer
(Low power industrial electronic systems)
Salary: to £35000
Location: West Midlands, commutable from Birmingham, Dudley, Redditch, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, Kidderminster areas
This newly created role will see you taking responsibility for all technical issues within our R&D department relating to electronics, software and electrical products. Reporting to the Design & Development Manager, you will use your in-depth electronics knowledge to develop new products, prototype build, hands-on electronics design and support series production.
Tasks & Responsibilities
o Hands-on electronics design and development, including schematics, PCB layout, & design verification
o Instrumental with your input into new product innovation, product roadmaps and specifications
o Leading technical brainstorms to assist in the resolution of problems / aiding design
o Implementing product reliability improvements and cost reductions
o Assisting with the resolution of quality issues and field failures
o Supporting customers on technical issues
o Dealing with obsolescence issues
Required Skills & Experience
You will already have a successful career gained working as an Electronics Design Engineer but are now seeking a fresh challenge working for an innovative company backed by a FSTE 250 organisation.
o Broad background with analogue and digital electronics component level design experience
o Low cost, often low power energy efficient products
o Electronic CAD schematic and electro-mechanical design input
o Experience of low level embedded software development
o Leading technical electronics design reviews
o Design verification testing and debugging of electronic circuits
o Practical knowledge of applying standard engineering practices such as gated review processes, change control, documentation etc.
o Experience of the full product life cycle, including taking products into mass production
Above all you will be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in technology and have a proven background in new product innovation
