An award winning business in the West Midlands are looking for a Technical Field Sales Engineer to add to their technical team.

The right Technical Field Sales Engineer will have a strong technical knowledge of plastics, compounding, carbon fibre, polymers & commercial awareness.
You will be required to be in the office on occasion but this role is Field based so the client will consider candidates from further a field as long as the required skills are there.
Position: Technical Field Sales Engineer (field based)
Location: West Midlands
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Reporting to the Sales Director; the Technical Field Sales Engineer will be responsible for bridging the gap between the customer demand & the client capabilities.
The Technical Field Sales Engineer will be responsible for technical sales activates related to the further development of the business and for the creation of new products.
o Building & developing relationships with customers, through managing their technical requirements
o Supporting Customers with Material selection, compiling design data & advising on manufacturing techniques
o Understanding of composites in high volume or high value end- use markets as well knowledge of composite processing methods would be advantageous for this role
o Experience of NPI and producing trial materials using the laboratory and pilot production facilities
o Preparing development proposals defining the process, schedule, cost & milestones of converting promising ideas into commercial products
o Experience in a customer facing commercial role in a company involved in the plastics, compounding or injection over moulding industries would be ideal for this role
o Bachelor level, engineering or science based degree
o Preparing customer related sales documents, including quotations, delivery schedules, etc.
o Delivering an aftersales support service & providing technical backup or escalating as required.
o The cultural fit; a strong business & commercial acumen. Strong negotiating skills, experience of dealing with supply chains, retaining up to date market knowledge and working across teams to achieve the business plan for profit growth.
