Due to exponential growth, a global automotive company with a several manufacturing sites in the UK are currently seeking a Senior Programme Manager to execute new product introduction taking into account quality, cost and time objectives.
Programme Manager - Automotive
Reporting to the Programme Director, this is a key opportunity to help develop and influence a growing tier 1 component manufacturer who are part of a multi-million pound global organisation.. The Programme Manager will have considerable autonomy to deliver a project with support from a team of highly skilled personnel. Providing high level project management of client contracts, supporting bid development and reporting on project status and key metrics.
o To support the customer projects by developing and implementing project plans and activities in line with customer and internal timing requirements.
o Chair meetings to support and achieve the milestones and quality goals.
o Programme timing plan to meet customer key gate ways and deliverables.
o Ensure budget approval and release according to agreed schedule.
o Track and report cost and revenue items to ensure the project meets its profitability targets while delivering the appropriate technical content.
o Develop action plans to correct deviations and variances from plan.
o Ensure a high standard of reporting and data integrity for project development.
o Identify bottlenecks and escalate as appropriate to ensure no project delays are encountered.
Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role you are likely to be already working in a Project Manager or Programme Manager capacity, leading engineering programs within an automotive manufacturing environment
o Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering qualification ( HNC/ Degree preferred)
o Proven Project Engineering/Project Management experience taking new products from nomination & industrialisation, CAPEX investment through to production introduction
o Evidence of technical problem solving and route cause investigation
o Strong knowledge of automotive quality tools and processes; APQP/ PPAP/ control plans
o Ability to persuade and influence to meet the expectations of automotive OEM customers, ideally with JLR exposure
