A global Aerospace company in Warwickshire are seeking an Lead Automation Project Engineer specialist who will supporting a major new project to introduce Automation into their manufacturing plant on a 2 year fixed term contract.

This is a critical role and will be instrumental in the introduction of a first class automated manufacturing facility and will given the autonomy to run the automation & robotic implementation in designated areas of the business.
Role: Lead Automation Project Engineer
Salary: up to £50,000 per annum + retention bonus (2 year fixed term contract)
Location: East Midland, commutable from Coventry, Warwick, Leamington, Rugby, Leicester, Kettering, Daventry, South Birmingham areas
Key responsibilities for the Lead Automation Project Engineer will include:-
o Design & implement automation & control systems applied to existing production plant & machinery to improve productivity and efficiency
o Develop and implement long range plans and standards for process control improvements
o Liaise with controls systems/ automation/ robotic system integrators to develop technical specification
o Conduct and implement Value Engineering on site
o Train personnel on process control methodology and troubleshoot control systems problems
o Support process control related activities of capital equipment projects
o Provide process control/PLC and start-up support of facilities in order to meet production schedules and business needs
o Provide assistance to area Engineers to troubleshoot process control problems
o Develops/reviews/maintains/update related documentation, files, procedures, databases, drawings and schematics in order to ensure integrity of unit instrument and process control technologies
o Implement recognised standards with regards safety related control functions
Applications are sought from Lead Automation Project Engineer , Automation Engineers or Project Engineer who can demonstrate significant experience in the specification, design and implementation of industrial control and automation to production lines
o Engineering degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or Instrumentation
o Expert knowledge of industrial automation, robotic systems, drives and controls, PLC control, HMI systems, sensors & associated safety guards
o Proven track record of experience working for a system integrator (robotics/automation) or heavily automated manufacturing organisation
o Creative thinking and detail-oriented personality
0 Skilled and confident communicator who can clearly present ideas and solutions
