Part of a major engineering group, this organisation has recently invested in a new manufacturing facility to produce complex low volume but very high variation products. As an Manufacturing Engineer your role will be to own the manufacturing system within the allocated manufacturing cell(s) by the creation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the safe and LEAN processes for existing and new products.
Location: North Somerset; commutable from Bristol, Weston super Mare, Clevedon and Bridgewater
A broad list of duties and responsibilities includes:
o Design, implement and maintain cell manufacturing layout
o Establish, monitor and improve the process within the allocated manufacturing cell
o Accountable for the implementation and maintenance of PFMEA's
o Setup, preparation and optimisation of manufacturing tooling and test solutions
o Support outsourcing, buy investigations for assemblies if required
o Perform time studies
o Drive CI activities across cycle times, quality, process improvement etc
Knowledge and experience required:
O You will already have a proven track record working as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer working with cell assembly manufacturing facility
o Time served apprenticeship/ HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject
o Proven process improvement, ideally reducing cycle time, scrap reduction, reduce tool cost
o In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and how to apply them in practice
o Methodical approach to problem solving, using data and metrics to prove results
o Hands on and flexible approach to provide support to production as and when required
