Reporting to the Group Operations Director, the role of Plant Manager has responsibility and autonomy for our clients flagship facility in the UK working for a prestigious automotive customer. You will lead a committed team of operational, engineering, HR and finance professionals to higher levels of performance and delivery.
High volume fast pace automotive JIT/ JIS manufacturer & assembly
c£110,000 package (company car, performance bonus, contributory pension, medical insurance)
Location: North West ( commutable from Manchester, Wrexham, Liverpool, Chester, Warrington, Crewe areas)
As Plant Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the operation produces quality product in an efficient and productive way whilst also providing a high level of service to its customers.
Responsible for evaluating how the business operates and developing strategies to drive competitive advantage through safe and efficient use of resources and implementation of new technologies, systems or processes.
Responsibilities include Production, Quality, MP&L, CI, HR, Engineering, IT and Finance.
As Plant Manager you will ultimately be responsible for employee engagement and communication and for coaching your team to higher levels of performance and delivery.
Day to Day responsibilities include:-
o Ensuring the safe operation of the facility.
o Ensuring the systematic daily organisation of resources including people equipment and materials are available to meet customer requirements.
o Setting and reviewing operational budgets and objectives. Ensuring financial targets and other agreed KPI's are met in all departments.
o Monitoring and analysing the current system of production to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
o Improvement strategies to drive productivity, competitive advantage and increase profitability.
Managing, measuring and motivating employees and ensuring they have the needed skills and equipment.
o Coach individuals within the operations team to perform at a higher standard.
o Reviewing organisations capacity and capability and ensuring plans are developed to meet current and future organisational needs.
o Optimise working capital management.
The successful candidate will already have significant experience working in a similar Plant Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager, Manufacturing Director capacity in a large, fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment meeting the needs of a demanding customer.
o Operational responsibility for a medium to large scale manufacturing plant or business unit
o Ideally you will have a background in first tier automotive supply
o Ability to drive cultural change you will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork and achieving high expectation business objectives.
o Experience of working with trade unions, you will empower others through strong leadership and motivation.
o Management of personal and operational performance in a culture of continuous improvement.
o Clear, concise and appropriate in your communication style both written and verbal.
o Able to recognise and respond to customer expectations, drive for results and demonstrate innovation in decision making, change management, and continuous improvement activities.
o In essence, you will have full ownership for all aspects of the plants' performance in terms of Cost, Quality, Delivery, HSE and People
