This diverse, successful automotive organisation has a requirement for a new Toolmaker to join its domestic toolroom and support manufacturing with the maintenance and repair of press tooling.
Salary: £15 per hour + 20% shift allowance
Shift: Double days with a night shift required 1 in every 6 weeks worked.
The preferred candidate will be an apprentice trained Engineer capable of working with good mechanical engineering skills, being able to help overhaul and maintain press tooling.
Duties and Responsibilities
o Service and repair tooling (strip down, clean, lubricate and rebuild)
o Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production
o Manufacture new tooling and ancillary spares
o Ensure company targets are met in respect of quality of parts produced
Experience and qualifications
o Apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering discipline
o This is a hands on job requiring engineering skill levels to craft level or similar/higher
o Conversant with H&S rules, regulations and best practices
o Knowledge of manual handling
o Able to confidently work to engineering drawings
o Be confident and experienced in working with;
o bench fitting,
o surface grinding
o cylindrical grinding
o welding / brazing / silver soldering
