As part of a major international group, this organisation are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the introduction of a significant new investment in capital machinery and automation. Your role will be to oversee and lead improvement activity for the manufacturing operations within a KPI driven, high volume manufacturing environment which is a leader in its field.
Salary: to £40,000

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role of Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and leading continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. Actively present on the shop floor, you will provide technical support on all production process related issues.
o Implement process improvement strategies across tooling, jigs and fixtures, quality / data analysis, OEE and optimisation of machine controls and production flow.
o Responsible for NPI Activity, SOP, PFMEA, PPAP
o Continuous improvement activities
o Poke yoke (error proofing)
o Line balancing & Value Stream Mapping
o Engineering and associated process change management
o Your focus will be on a key manufacturing processes including pressings and precision machining
Knowledge and Education
You will already have a proven track record working in a similar Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Production Engineering role within a high volume manufacturing facility and some of the flowing attributes:
o Apprentice / HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject
o Experienced working in a high volume KPI driven environment and will be involved in process related change from cradle to the grave.
o In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing/ Continuous Improvement methodologies and how to apply them in practice – Six Sigma Green Belt would be advantageous
o Confident hands-on approach, problem solving and rout cause analysis.
o SOP and PFMEA creation
o Knowledge of route cause analysis and structured problem solving ( 8D, PPS, Fish bone)
