Job Description
Part of a major group, this organisation is investing heavily in production facilities to deliver high value components to the Aerospace industry. As a Quality Engineer your role will be to develop forward model advanced quality planning for New Product Introduction delivered into their UK production facilities.
Quality Engineer
Salary: £35,000 - 38,000 per annum plus benefits
Location: Birmingham commutable from Birmingham, Warwick, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Wolverhampton, Kidderminster, Walsall, West Bromwich
The main responsible of the Quality Engineer for the development advanced quality activities to produce products on time with the required quality, manufactured with capable means and processes, using validated supplies to meet the customer requirements and deadlines.
Main duties and responsibilities:
o Work alongside Quality Manager on new or resourced projects from RFQ stage through to final buy off and acceptance
o Involvement in all NPI/ APQP quality activities in line with customer requirements
o Knowledge of AS9100 & NADCAP is important to the role
o Control plan and validation definition and execution
o Liaison with customers to verify project schedules, budgets and quality
o Design concept, validation and buy-off of Gauge/Checking fixture
o Monitoring and meeting with suppliers
o Set up of measurement activities and analysis of measurement reports before feeding back to Project Management
o Support equipment project timelines and manage on time delivery and buy off
o A working understanding of Lean Manufacturing practices
Knowledge and Education for Quality Engineer
Applications are sought from experienced Quality professionals, who are either knowledgeable or have a preferred interest in Advanced Quality, New Product Introduction, APQP and Forward Model Quality Planning.
o Ideally you will be educated to HNC/ Degree level, though equivalent relevant experience is readily considered
o It is essential that you have quality assurance experience
o Ideally, you will have gained your experience from within the automotive sector, but other manufacturing sectors are also considered
o There is a high degree of traveling involved in UK and possibly Europe with this role
o Sound knowledge of quality methods and tools (PPAP's, DFEMA, PFMEA, 5Y, 5S, 8D and SPC)
o Superb communication skills
