A leading manufacturing group, this innovative organisation is looking to recruit a Metrology Engineer with extensive CMM experience to take a key position within the company. Working in a fast paced development environment, your role will be to drive performance improvements, working on new product introduction and continuous improvements while supporting Metrology functions across multiple sites.
Metrology Engineer – CMM Programmer
Location: South Birmingham; Commutable from Redditch, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Worcester and South Birmingham areas
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum + benefits, based upon experience
Main duties and responsibilities:
O Working mainly through PCDMIS software, you will interpret drawings and specifications, writing and supporting CMM program generation.
O Support site Metrology and gauging activities technically representing Conformance Engineering including; Metrology Methods and Practices, CMM Programming and Inspection Techniques, First Article evaluations and reporting and New Product Introduction
O Participate in the calibration procedure and drive consistent adherence with support from other functions.
O Improve production evaluation, Gauges, Vernon Columns, HMI and Implementation of new technologies.
O Use SPC software for data analysis of the Metrology Centre and for production processes.
O Control of Metrology processes by introduction of standard training packs – QPS/WES
Knowledge and experience required:
O You will already be a CMM Programmer, Quality technician, Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
O Previous experience of Aerospace standards would be advantageous.
O Extensive experience of working with PCDMIS and/or Mitutoyo Programs
