Part of a successful and acquisitive private group, this organisation has a volume manufacturing facility producing complex high value components for the automotive, electrical and electronics industry. As Quality Manager your role will be to develop quality control and process improvements to facilitate excellent customer feedback and metrics.
Group Quality Manager
Industry: Automotive / High Volume manufacturer
Salary: to £60000 + benefits
Reporting directly to the Board, you will be responsible for all plant quality activities to ensure customer satisfaction. Planning, directing and controlling quality assurance and quality control functions through product launch and series production.
o Develop and manage the Quality & Business Management System in line with IATF16949, ISO9001 and ISO14001
o Drive, maintain and continuously improve customer quality deliverables & Warranty metrics
o Principle liaison with the customer in order to resolve customer enquiries, facilitating 8D/root cause analysis; review and analyse customer quality data
o Establish departmental goals, objectives and KPI's
o Provide coaching, guidance and development to immediate and cross-functional teams
o Manage Project quality deliverables
o Support continuous improvement of quality performance.
o Maintain and improve quality systems in line with ISO/IATF16949 and customer specific requirements
Qualifications and Aptitudes:
To be successful in this role you will already have several years experience working in a Plant Quality Manager or possible Group Quality Manager role and will see this a tremendous opportunity to establish and influence the quality direction within a fast paced modern plant.
o HNC/ Degree level or equivalent in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering/ Quality and ideally audit trained
o Ideally have Automotive experience or similar high quality metrics manufacturing background
o Lean Manufacturing experience ideally Lean Sigma trained.
o Previous experience on a senior management team and proven experience of managing a quality function
o Proven knowledge of IATF16949 QMS and quality metrics, able to define and implement new standards
o Problem identification and problem solving tools
o Must have excellent customer service and presentation skills
o Proven negotiation skills with verbal and written communications
