Part of a major international automotive group, this organisation has recently been nominated for a significant new programmes resulting an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to support the advanced engineering from initial concept and industrialisation through to serial production.

Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager

c£60000 + car allowance, bonus pension

Location: Warwickshire

Key Responsibilities:

o Lead and manager a team of Manufacturing Project Engineers responsible for NPI programmes across several customers and production sites throughout the UK.

o Define the optimum manufacturing process for new products using appropriate technology for each manufacturing site.

o Define the lay-out and process flow for each production line and workstations

o Ensure Process FMEA is realised before the production means are kicked off and is fed into the technical specifications.

o Supervise and approve the technical specifications for tools and capital investments

o Ensure capacity, run at rate, cycle times and manpower are aligned

o Manage suppliers and machine vendors to ensure Project requirements are met

Knowledge and Education

You will already have a proven track record working as a Production Engineering Manager or Senior Manufacturing Engineer already working in the automotive sector.

o HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject

o Experience of industrialisation and project management of new products (NPI) from conception to final handover.

o Expert knowledge of PFMEA, process & capacity planning and engineering change control plans.

o Selection and management of process/ equipment suppliers – tooling and equipment design and technical specification

o Previous experience in automotive tier 1 or OEM volume manufacturing environments, ideally interior trim or similar complex assemblies

o Knowledge of plastic injection moulding, bonding, plastic / laser welding, lamination, cut & sew and assembly processes highly desirable

o Strong management, negotiation and communication skills
