Part of a major international automotive group, this organisation has recently won significant new programmes resulting in significant new investment in their manufacturing facilities to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. As NPI Project Engineer your remit will be to plan and implement new product introduction from initial design phase through to series production.
NPI Project Engineer
Salary: to £36000 + benefits
Location: North West (commutable from Liverpool, Warrington, Chester, Wrexham, Manchester area)
o Project Planning NPI to meet customer-defined milestones & deadlines
o Design for Manufacture DFM– design & development of components at the front end of project
o Lead & facilitate NPI review meetings, both internally & externally
o Design & development of Jigs & Fixtures – from concept to implementation
o Oversee & support the introduction of new products, processes and documentation
o Monitor & facilitate project expenditure and assess impact on the overall programme budget
o Work with APQP Engineer to develop DFMEA & Control Plan for new products
You will already have significant experience in a similar Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, NPI Engineer or AQPQ Engineer role delivering world class manufacturing excellence with high volume manufacturing organisations.
o HNC/ Degree or equivalent in an engineering/ manufacturing related subject
o Direct experience of APQP & PPAP
o Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise workloads to meet project deadlines
o Understanding of continuous improvement / lean manufacturing techniques and tools
o Excellent project management skills
o Previous experience of automotive project launches preferred, but NPI experience gained in similar volume quality oriented product manufacturing is of interest
o Knowledge of JIT manufacturing & IATF16949 would be an advantage.
