A leading supplier of high precision components to the automotive industry have an opportunity for a Quality Inspector/CMM operator to join the team on the company on a permanent night shift.
Working within a high volume, high precision environment of approximately 10,000 units per week, the successful candidate will be required to carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection checks according to company control plans.
Quality Inspector / Metrologist/ CMM Operator – Night Shift
Location: West Midlands; commutable from Birmingham, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Walsall, Stafford, Telford areas
Salary: up to £23,000 per annum with overtime regularly available at a premium rate
Job duties will include but are not limited to:
O Carry out first off, in process and final inspection checks
O perform inspection using CMM machinery, micrometres, screw thread gauges, contour and surface finish
O Act as the Quality representative during your shift
O Responsible for maintaining the calibration schedule and ensure all measurement equipment is within calibration
O Ensure all quality records are in accordance with the control plan.
The successful Quality Inspector will have the following skills & experience:-
O Ideally you will come from a high volume, high precision (+/- 10 microns) manufacturing environment
O Any experience with IATF/TS 16949 standards would be advantageous
O Previous CMM operating experience. Training can be given on the relevant software
O Absolute attention to detail across all duties, at all times
O Previous experience of working in a pressurised and demanding environment
Part of a major engineering group, this organisation has recently invested in a new manufacturing facility to produce complex high volume but very high precision components for the automotive industry. Although standard working hours are Sunday – Thursday, 22:00 – 06:00, overtime is regularly available at a premium rate.
