As a key member of the Global Sales Team, this role is responsible for new and existing business development opportunities within the UK & Ireland.
Lead the UK & Ireland Sales Team (50% role) and have an active Sales role (50% role)
Together with the Sales Director you will determine the team's commercial targets, manage and coach the Sales Team within UK and Ireland in order to achieve the goals.
You develop individuals to ensure correct commercial reporting and maintaining relationships with customers.
Responsibilities / Duties
Responsible for guiding and coaching the Sales Team within UK, Ireland and Scandinavia
Develop and implementation of departmental annual plans to include: Setting goals and objectives for the Innovation department which will support the overall business plan of the company.
Development and implementation of employee career path plan to include; evaluations, training, counselling and job enrichment or enhancement.
Creation of a team based work environment in which employees are motivated to maximise their performance, have the possibility to reach their full potential and maintain a positive morale.
Responsible for implementing the sales strategy within the region; creating sales budget (target) both in volume, margin and market share.
Analyse customer needs and offering best solutions
Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability
Accountable for UK & Ireland regional performance
Building and maintaining relationships with key customers with visits and proactive communications
Taking part in trade shows and other relevant marketing events
Coach and support Area Sales Managers and Account Managers
Master/bachelor degree in a technical/commercial field
5/10 years' experience within Sales in the food industry (capital goods) or related field
Proven track record of leadership
Good knowledge of the business processes of companies in the food industry or connected industries
Experience in managing and supervising Sales employees
Experience of negotiating and cooperation with people of different culture and tactics involved in strategic negotiations
Excellent negotiation skills that can develop leads, finds opportunities, penetrate prospects
Last but not least, you are willing to travel extensively within your area.
