International automotive tier 1 component manufacturing is seeking an experienced Welding or Joining Technician to support welding and joining processes in a high volume manufacturing environment.



Welding Technician

West Midlands location

to £28 per hour (Ltd Co)

3 shift rotating weekly

6 month contract duration



The successful Welding Technician will provide daily technical support for all automated welding & joining processes to produce pressed metal automotive body and chassis components.

Duties:

o Investigate and provide technical solutions for welding / joining processes ie: robotic MIG welding, self piercing rivets/ bonding

o Hands-on technical resource supporting assembly maintenance, production & quality departments

o Assess joining processes for quality, productivity, function and condition

o Identify areas for improvement for maintenance, performance or operations of welding equipment

o Support internal auditing of joining processes, quality & control



Experience:

Applications are sought from experience Welding Technicians, Robot Technicians, Process Technicians who can demonstrate a track record of providing engineering and technical support to automated / robotic welding or other joining process in a high volume production environment.

o Completed a recognised electrical or maintenance apprenticeship or equivalent training C&G/ ONC

o Trained or certified in any form of joining – welding, riveting, bonding

o Audit, assess and improve joining process for quality, productivity, function & repeatability

o Good understanding of robotic application applied to a joining process

o Able to assess and apply technical standards & process control parameters to joining equipment
