Part of a major international group, this organisation is in the process of setting up a new manufacturing facility on a 'green field site' to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. As Metrology Engineer/ CMM Programmer you will be instrumental in establishing the metrology strategy and CMM programs to measure close tolerance components using the latest Hexagon equipment .
Metrology Engineer / CMM Programmer
c£36000 + benefits
Location: West Midlands ( commutable from Birmingham, Redditch, Solihull, Coleshill, Warwick, Coventry, Leamington areas )
o Compose CMM programs using Polyworks software from CAD data
o Develop and improve CMM Inspection methods
o Identify tooling and fixture requirements for CMM Inspection.
o Support New Product Introduction (NPI)
o Participate in Design for Manufacture (DFM)
You will already have a proven track record working as an CMM Engineer, CMM Programmer, Metrology Engineer or Technician working with a precision engineering / manufacturing environment.
o HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject preferred or IQA equivalent
o Experience of programming CMM ( Polyworks, PCDMIS, Calypso, Cosmos or similar )
o Good understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
o Ability to achieve to tight tolerances ( <0.4>
o Proactive and participative as part of the team
o Open minded and able to adapt to changing environment and circumstances
o Customer focused and constantly striving for better ways of delivering for the company.
o Ability to observe, listen and question.
o Demonstrate a commitment to achieve high standards, a "can do" approach to problems and persistence in the face of adversity
