A Global giant in the manufacturing of electric motors and drives are looking for a Process Engineer to manage the continuous improvement activity across the whole site in Hampshire. The initial business improvement will be with the shop floor but the right candidate will be granted the autonomy to drive process improvement across the entire site.
You will be the ambassador for Process/Continuous Improvement across the facility. This is a business that is part of a truly global manufacturing and you will be an integral part of improving the flow and layout of the shop floor. This business does require you to have a strong hands on skill set as well as the lean tools to do this job.
Position: Process Engineer
Salary: up to £40,000 per annum + benefits
Reporting to the Engineering Manager; the Process Engineer will be responsible for development and optimization of the manufacturing processes, reducing cost & the key element of reducing variability.
The role would be open to Lean Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, Continuous Improvement Engineer, Process Improvement Engineer
o The Process Engineer will be responsible for all technical input on all process related capital projects
o Strong knowledge and skills within hands on Manufacturing tools are also essential including PFMEAs, SOPs, DFMEAs & document process risk assessments.
o You will be responsible for the day to day running of a number of different projects including continuous improvement, cost reduction, waste reduction & productivity
o The ideal candidate will have previous project experience on optimizing processes on current manufacturing equipment, investigation of potential modifications to current equipment & investigation of new equipment & processes that maybe required for shop floor expansion
o You will be required to have a very strong Lean Toolbox with exposure to leading Six Sigma activities & engaging the shop floor to follow your example - Green Belt Six Sigma Certified (preferred), 5 WHYs, Ishikawa, Kaizen exposure is favourable.
o The cultural fit; a strong business acumen - able to relate process improvements & investments in new equipment & experience of capital projects management as well being able to communicate with management, shop floor & suppliers
o A degree in any of the disciplines within Engineering is essential.
