Part of a major international group, this organisation is continuing to invest in new processes and machinery to recycle high value material from aerospace, automotive and other industry sectors



Process Engineer – Material recycling

Salary: to £40000

Location: Wolverhampton



This role involves responsibility for the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for the purposes of reducing cost, improving throughput and reducing variability. This will include optimizing processes on current manufacturing equipment; investigation of potential modifications to current equipment to provide improved performance in the areas mentioned; and investigation of new equipment and processes that may be required as the company expands

o Investigation and optimization of processing parameters for the manufacturing processes - maximizing throughput, minimizing cost and reducing variability;

o Technical input on all process related capital projects; furnaces, material shredders & sortation

o Project management of selected process related capital projects;

o Input into continuous improvement initiatives - waste reduction, cost reduction, productivity improvement, variation reduction

o Leading Six Sigma and 5S activities

o Process safety / process hazard assessments



Knowledge and Education

You will already have a proven track record working in a similar Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Production Engineering role within a high volume process based manufacturing facility and some of the following attributes:

o Degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or a similar level of experience

o Experience of process based manufacturing and plant eg: furnaces, material shredders and sortation; possible from food, FMCG, packaging or materials production environment

o Hands on and willing to get involved in shop floor trials

o Knowledge and experience in the areas of process safety, including process hazard assessment / process safety assessment;

o Demonstrable experiences of commissioning new process plant;

o Experience of capital projects management.

o Six Sigma black belt certification is preferred;



This method of manufacture is unique and further training will be provided which will involve some overseas travel.
