We are currently looking to recruit a Logistics Supervisor for one of the world's premier global automotive suppliers. Responsible for all good movement both inwards and outbound, warehouse management and parts retrieval in a high volume fast pace Just in Sequence / JIT environment.

Salary: c£35000 
Location: Sunderland

Duties:
Report to the MP&L Manager & will be responsible for the day to day operation of the logistics and material handling team for inbound and outbound components, stock accuracy and line side scheduling and delivery to external customers.

  • Develop, coach and manage a logistics / Material handling team, ensuring that team performance meets expectations
  • Produce daily KPI and inventory reports implementing improvements through planned projects using your resource
  • Carrying our regular audits of processes procedures, striving for adherence to process & updating SOPs/training documents actively
  • Manage relevant documentation to the role, including but not limited to KPIs; skills matrices; standard work lists, handovers
Experience:
You will ideally already be an experienced Logistics Supervisor or Warehouse Supervisor  with a strong background gained in automotive or similar world class manufacturing environment and therefore used to the expectations of automotive supply chain and delivery.
o Line management, training, discipline, audit and risk assessment experience
o Thorough understanding of KANBAN/ JIT processes, ideally
o Just in Time sequencing (JIS) and Automated Storage & Retrieval System would be desirable
o MRP / ERP is essential – ideally SAP
o Able to work to and improve demanding KPIs to include HSE, stock accuracy, SAP reports
o Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure
o Understanding of Health and Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment
 
The role will involve shift work, likely to start on rotating double days (6-2; 2-10) but with flexibility to change on the future to meet business needs
