Toolmakers / Die Maintenance Technician (Weekend shift)

Location - Telford

Salary – Extremely attractive - three day working week

As a Die Maintenance Tooling Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance & repair of high pressure die cast tooling to support a high volume production environment.


o Preparation and maintenance of existing die cast tooling

o Ensures all tooling is safe and production ready at the time returned for production use, following correct preventative maintenance (PM) process.

o Supports coordination of engineering changes and supports maintenance of spare parts.

o Prepares and tests tools by laying out / setting up / machining.

o Fits and assembles parts and test completed tools for proper operation.

o Sets up and carefully monitors tools and performs inspections prior to removing tooling from the machine.


o Time served Toolmaking apprenticeship with experience working as a Toolmaker or Die Maintenance Technician with either a tool manufacturer or domestic toolroom.

o Experience of performing die maintenance, strip down, repair and re-assembly of die casting tooling is most desirable, however experience of plastic injection mould tool or similar will be considered

o Ability to read engineering drawings and use appropriate measurement equipment.

o Experienced in the use of hand tool skills and toolroom machinery and equipment : milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, bench grinder etc.

o Ability to follow and execute the preventative maintenance program.

o Able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.


o Excellent salary plus shift allowance & paid overtime when available

o Company uniform, full PPE, on-site parking and canteen facilities


o Weekend shift pattern based on a 3 day working week (Fri, Sat & Sun) on 34.5 hours
