An opportunity for a Quality Health & Safety Manager with a strong process & systems driven background has come up with a metals stockholder & manufacturer in the West Midlands. The business are part of a multi-million pound group & recorded a record year in 2020 and will continue to go on from strength to strength this year. They are looking to invest further with a multi-million pound sign off for new machinery to be installed and a number of high end projects with Blue Chip end users.
Reporting in to the Managing Director, the business are looking for an individual with experience in components manufacturing but has also been involved in overseeing & implementing best practice of health & safety on the shopfloor. This role will require you to cover 2 sites as the Quality, Health & Safety Ambassador in the West Midlands. The right candidate will have a strong background in quality systems & will be process driven. A current driving license is essential to this role.
Role: Quality Health & Safety Manager
Salary: £35,000 per annum + benefits + bonuses
Location: West Midlands – Commutable from Wolverhampton, Walsall, Birmingham, Cannock, Telford, West Bromwich, Wednesbury
The key requirements for the Quality Health & Safety Manager are:-
o Working closely with the shopfloor to implement & to have the overall responsibility for all Health & Safety activity on the Shopfloor. You will be the ambassador for H & S.
o Good experience of working in a component based manufacturing environment is essential & to have a good & robust quality toolbox
o Manage machinery maintenance schedules to ensure compliance for insurance, optimum productivity and quality and safe working practices
o Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System (QMS)
o Respond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures
o Ensure KPIs are met by working to the annual plan. Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
o experience of Management of quality systems and process control plans in a component manufacturing environment, including subcontract processing is an ideal fit for this business.
o Conduct & carry out internal and compliance audits of 2 sites; report on findings and manage issue log through to completion. Carry out all risk assessments and special assessments for each site as required by business, including machine operations, manual handling, lone working, fork lift loading, pregnant workers, young workers etc and to co-ordinate and manage first aid and fire safety representatives for both sites.
o Qualification in occupational health and safety, such as NVQ, BSC or NEBOSH national diploma.
