Excellent opportunity for an ambitious Technical Sales professional to set up a new Geo Materials division within an established global leader.
Purpose of Role
Newly created position of Business Development Manager - Geomaterials, you will joining an establish global manufacturer of Geo Hazzard Engineering Materials & Solutions, responsible for establishing a new market sector within Coastal Erosion solutions, initially in the UK expanding into Europe and finally responsible for all coastal sales worldwide.
Salary £50-70000 (DOE) + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
o You will be developing, organizing and coordinating worldwide all coastal erosion activities, co-ordinating all global sales-relevant issues such as pricing structure, marketing activities and technical innovation.
o Build strong and trustworthy relationships at all levels of the customer’s organisation including engineering, quality, project, and procurement staff. Develop and qualify target opportunities, conduct frequent visits to the above with both established and potential customers
o Develop (technically & commercially) new market of Coastal Erosion Mitigation Solutions, starting in the UK (first phase), expanding to whole of Europe (second phase) to finally covering all Coastal sales regions
o Initiate all sales, marketing and/or promotional efforts for coastal erosion management products, systems and services
o Utilise the technical support available within the business to source all necessary data to present cost-effective solutions which satisfy customer application needs and all legislative requirements.
o Visit exhibitions, customers and influencers in coordination with the subsidiaries, country managers and partners
You will be motivated by the opportunity to establish a new coastal erosion solutions division, promoting engineering materials and technical solutions for an established global business with the following credentials:
o Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography or a related discipline, preferably Chartered
o Knowledge of construction materials, tensile steel, Geo Synthetics, Geo Textiles or similar products
o Sound knowledge and understanding of Coastal Erosion threats, Framework Agreements and Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) guidance
o Demonstrable knowledge of developing client relationships to develop new opportunities
o Working knowledge of relevant legislation, planning policy, guides and design standards relating to civil engineering, coastal erosion, flood risk management and drainage strategies
o Prepare technical solution development and ability to develop, price and agree scope of services plus leading and winning tender opportunities
o Writing and reviewing technical reports and adept in presenting to existing and potential clients, to regulators and stakeholders
o A driven, self-motivated, pro-active team player who is organised, able to work on own initiative, can resolve problems and manage conflicting priorities in order to succeed.
