Part of a major international group, this organisation has recently built a new manufacturing facility' to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. As a Process Engineer your role will be to oversee and lead improvement activity for the CNC machining secondary operations manufacturing cells within a brand new production facility.

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the role of Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and leading continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. Actively present on the shop floor, you will provide technical support on all CNC machining production process related issues.
o Implement process improvement strategies across CNC machine tool setting, cutting tool improvements including liaison with tooling vendors, jigs, fixtures and work holding improvements, quality / data analysis and optimisation of machine controls and production flow.
o Creation of SOPs and PFMEA documentation
o Continuous improvement activities
o Poke yoke (error proofing)
o Line balancing & Value Stream Mapping
o Engineering and associated process change management
o Your focus will be on a key manufacturing processes including heat treatment, surface treatment, CNC machining, all controlled in a highly automated production cells incorporating the latest Robots and PLC automation.

Knowledge and experience:
You will already have a proven track record working in a similar CNC Setter, Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Production Engineering role within a high volume CNC machining manufacturing facility and some of the following attributes:
o Apprentice / HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject
o Experienced working with CNC machine tools, associated jigs and fixturing – particularly hydraulic fixtures or similar quick release jigs to improve cycle times
o CNC machine tool setting, programming and optimisation
o In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing/ Continuous Improvement methodologies and how to apply them in practice
o Confident hands-on approach, problem solving and route cause analysis.
o SOP and PFMEA creation
o Knowledge of route cause analysis and structured problem solving ( 8D, PPS, Fish bone)
