An integral part of a highly successful UK listed Group of Companies, our Client is a world leading designer & manufacturer of electrical equipment used with the power sector supplied to a global customer base. Highly profitable with strong sales performance, the Company is about to enter a new and exciting phase of growth.
As a result a newly created position of Technical Director is now required to lead the R&D, engineering, purchasing, production & test teams. As a member of the Board, you will report directly to the Managing Director and will assume full responsibility for delivering the current new product development strategy in addition to establishing and implementing a new Technology & NPD roadmap.
With responsibility for the successful development and project management of new products into production, you will lead, manage and develop a dedicated Engineering/Development team. In addition you will keep abreast of current trends and competitor/ customer requirements to ensure the business remains at the forefront of technology. Once orders are received, responsibility for ensuring that they are designed, ordered and built in a timely and profitable manner.
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering (or related engineering/scientific discipline), you will be able to demonstrate a proven & commercially successful NPD track record gained in a technical/engineered product environment (eg. electrical equipment, transformers, power systems, HV/MV/LV switchgear, control systems)
You will already be working in a similar capacity as Engineering Manager/ Director, Head of Engineering or Technical Director capacity and possess strong leadership & development skills coupled with a strong understanding of NPD/market dynamics.
Creative, highly motivated, energetic and decisive, you will possess the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively both within the organisation and externally with customers.
This is a demanding but challenging role working for a very established global engineering company in a modern manufacturing unit supplier products around the world. The team is well established with many long servicing colleagues and the companies order book has grown significantly and is expected to remain positive. Salary is negotiable depending upon your level of experience but anticipated in the £60-70000 range.
