Part of a major international group, this organisation has recently built a new manufacturing facility' to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. As a Die Cast Process Technician your role will be to oversee and lead improvement activity for the High Pressure Die Casting  manufacturing cells within a brand new production facility.

Process Technician – High pressure Die Casting

Shift based ( 6-2, 2-10, 10-6)
Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the role of Process Technician  will be responsible for maintaining the die casting machine process and leading continuous improvement activities. Actively present on the shop floor, you will provide technical support on all Die Casting production process related issues.
o Support the Die / Tool Change Team to stabilising the process during and after tooling changes, this will involve robot set-ups, HPDC/Thermo control/Vacuum control programme management
o Support the Production team on Die Casting process related challenges
o Basic casting defect diagnosis - demonstrate the ability to identify & correct contributing factors to process defects
o Daily dialogue with the Production Team to ensure the Die Casting processes meet the
delivery objectives.
o Maintaining process documentation – daily process audits, process settings sheets, standard work instructions
o Develop and implement process improvement strategies through OEE improvements Cost Avoidance projects & scrap reduction activities.
o Investigate, troubleshoot & resolve – root cause analysis
Knowledge and experience:
You will already have pprevious foundry and casting experience, ideally with High Pressure or Low Pressure Die Casting machines such as Bühler, Toshiba, Oskar Frech or Idra
o Basic casting defect diagnosis & die design and operation
o Process change management experience and ability to coach team members
o Process audit  & root cause analysis experience with a demonstrated analytical approach to problem solving
o Willing to work on a rotating three shift basis ( 6-2, 2-10, 10-6) and occasional travel oversees for training
