Control Systems Engineer – Robotic automation
Salary: upto £60000 + company car
Location: West Midlands - commutable from South Birmingham, Coventry, Redditch, Solihull, Warwick, Leamington Spa areas. Some flexibility for remote working
Working in a newly created R&D team you will be working on next generation programmes, designing and implement control software & simulation models and testing as required to ensure functionality.
o Design, build and program PLC control systems used at the heart of new innovative robot solutions to meet customer specific requirements
o Lead and collaborate with the engineering team to create bespoke automation solutions, based on customer requirements - converting customer requirements into FDS.
o Plan controls architecture and cabinet layouts for each system, creating electrical drawings
o Liaise with clients and management team to support the development of strategy, team goals and the future direction of the business.
o Provide engineering support to the service team with advice and remedial actions following investigations of product failures.
The role requires a highly skilled and focused Senior Control Systems Engineer who can demonstrate creative and ingenious thinking with the ability to solve both software and integration problems quickly with a portfolio of experience across the following fields;
o MEng/BEng/Bsc in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science
o Significant design and progamming of Control Systems for machinery design, controls or robotics development activities.
o Capable of independent logical thought and deduction to solve problems.
o Advanced PLC programming (Beckhoff , C# and IEC61131-3 Structured text) general integration of hardware and software.
o Knowledge of robot programming, system integration and industrial communications (e.g. TCP/IP, MODBUS TCP/RTU, RS232/485, OPCUA, PROFINET).
o Experience of electrical control theory, electrical panel design and generation of circuit diagrams to support the machine technical file.
o Knowledge of the CE/UKCA machinery directive sections appropriate to your field.
