Part of a major international group, this organisation has a modern manufacturing facility to produce complex high value components for aerospace and defence industry and is seeking an experience Quality professional to support plant operations with quality and integrated business systems management across the manufacturing facility.
Salary £30-35000 + benefits
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Reporting to the plant Quality Manager as Quality Engineer you will ensuring best practice quality control and quality assurance across the facility, manage any customer escalations, coach on best practices and work on projects for continuous improvement
o Coordinate internal & external/ customer audits
o Customer liaison and problem resolution for quality and non conformance issues
o Investigation of internal & external complaints, rejects and returns to establish the root causes & corrective actions
o Record and display KPI information and generate reports and statistics for Management Review
o Maintenance of the calibration system
o Conduct internal and external audits at other company locations, supplier or service providers as part of the company audit plan.
o Assist in implementation and use of risk management tools, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, capability studies and FAIR’s in line with customer or company requirements.
o Support business initiatives to improve systems & quality / environmental awareness through all levels of the organisation
Applications are sought from experienced Quality Engineers who are keen to take a leading plant based responsibility to quality and HSE tasks
o Qualified to a minimum NVQ/ HNC Level in an Engineering, Technical or Quality related discipline
o Manufacturing background working within highly regulated industries such as aerospace, defence, automotive, medical devices oil & gas or similar
o Customer facing experience, adept at problem resolution
o Work in a fast pace production environment, willing to challenge the status quo
o Audit qualifications – Internal Audit for ISO9001/ AS 9100
o Health & Safety training desirable – ISOH / NEBOSH
o Sound quality tool kit including PPAP, APQP, FAIR, MSA and standardised documents
o Knowledge of quality management systems : ISO9001, AS9100, AS9120, ISO45001 and ISO14001
